time and tide

I thought I might have got back here to write another post before now, but that's how it goes. You need soemthing to say and then you need to make the time to write it. Is that the waning moon I feel lessening it's grip on me? Freeing me up a little to spend some time articulating some thoughts.

Things are interesting here, federal goverment budgets (from both sides of the fence - is it still a fence or merely a line?) with lots of talk about billions. I can't grasp how much a billion is or what you might get for it. but then, when they talk about offering school up to 1.5 million to build trade based teaching facilities I can't image that it would go far. So, now we will get more and more of the posturing and promising as we lead up to an election - mostly boring if you ask me. Nothing outstanding or originally creative.

Will be travelling soon and much planning has been done. Feels a bit odd actually, have sort of experienced the places already. Like the trip is half done. Just need to go there and confirm the plans for it to be complete. It will be exciting enough and to be 'on the ground' will be the rush. Looking for transport and accommodation has been fun (and cecking out a city centre via Google earth is cool) but it won't be 'real' till we get there. A couple of weeks and another adventure starts.

I thought I'd start this blog to keep track of what we're doing (some diary reflections and photos) so we'll see how we go. I even thought earlier that I could have a separate one just for the trip but can't think why now...
