Back in the land of OZ and home again after 2 months on the road. A very exhilarating and worthwhile trip to Europe that has left us all a bit stunned. Bit hard to believe where we've been and what we've done, actually visited 12 countries! Now we really need to sit down and have a de-brief and look at the blog again and all the photos. Will probably do something like a country at a time and talk to the boys about it. Poeple are asking how the 'holiday' went but it doesn't feel like a holiday - not in the sense of lying on the beach in Bali reading novels all day. It was a journey, and at times fairly hard work. Anyway, a fantatsic experience for all of us and a great insight into both eastern and western Europe.
I'm happy to be home and while I could probably live in Europe, I do appreciate what we have here in Australia. Lots of thing to think about regarding what we've seen and experienced but that will be material for later posts.
While away we attended the 13th International Conference on Thinking in Norkopping, Sweden. Very busy (5 x 1 hour sessions per day on average) and usally fairly interesting and stimulating presentations. Lots about learning and teaching but also stuff on how the brain works and what education can do to develop cognitive ability.
